Framed Views: Making and Hanging a Dimensional Art Quilt
The SAQA Florida region invited me to give this talk at our monthly meeting in summer 2026. I had the opportunity to share my lessons learned from hanging and showing my multi-piece suspended work, Evolving. I have also written about this experience on my Substack. I have been a member of SAQA since 2024 and have gotten so much out of participating in the local, regional and national groups.
Tunnel Book Design and Construction
This three-hour course provides an introduction to tunnel book construction, including the history of the form, construction practice using my illustrated scenes around Safety Harbor, and tips for planning layout and design. Participants build their first book using the template and then design and construct their own book. I taught this class as part of the the Safety Harbor Artful Handcrafted Books group, through the Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild in fall 2026 and materials are available here on my site.

Designing and Creating Your Own Tool Kits
Makers use such a wide variety of different tools in specialized workflows. Often, store-bought tool kits just don’t meet our needs. I’ve been playing with using bag-making and book-making techniques to design, prototype and test custom kits to support my work. I shared a short demonstration of this approach, and some examples of my work, with the Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild in 2025 and at the SAQA Florida retreat in summer 2026.
