Evolving

Featuring panels of silk, cotton, woven fibers, and quilted fabric, this work responds to the myriad framed views and changing textures the visitor experiences while moving through the Florida Botanical Gardens’ various landscaped spaces.

Taken together, the pieces depict a map of the gardens, highlighting the native, fruit, aquatic demonstration, cactus and tropical gardens as well as the natural area. Species represented include white fringe tree, saw palmetto, American crinum lily, duck potato arrowhead and agave.

This work was included in Threads of Nature: Art Inspired by the Florida Botanical Gardens, presented by the Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild show at The Gallery at Creative Pinellas in 2024.
